Circa 2012, the very first Jazz Festival in Goa was organized and rolled out in the sunny state of Goa – Jazz’n’Goa!!
The best musicians from St. Petersburg, India, Iran, Great Britain and Jamaica performed at 18 different venues for 30 days with more then 1000 visitors. “Festival provides a platform to Jazz performers and lovers to come together and promote a new wave of music: Goa-Jazz, that will be the amalgamation of classic Jazz and the traditional ethnic sounds of India,” (Times of India, 26 March 2012) The festival brings in improvised music with the different genres in the genre (Jazz) itself. From classical and modern Jazz, lounge and disco-funk, Brazilian bossa nova to Indo fusion and electronic music with elements of hip-hop, house, reggae, trance, acid jazz; all of these comprise the entire festival.
Highly Qualified Professionals of their field, famous and eminent musicians in their countries were invited to the festival in 2012.
After 10 years, the participants are back and have decided to recreate the Magic, again!
Jazz’n’Goa 2022 will be held at the new Glam & Grill (Mandrem) venue in the format of a concert of the festival’s headliners and a further Jam Session, where many famous musicians from India, Russia, Israel, Italy and other countries are expected. Such an event should not be missed!

Xavier Peres – keyboard (Goa), – Xavier is definitely Goa’s most accomplished jazz talent. His brilliant improvisation skills was noticed by the Fundacao Oriente in Goa who offered him a scholarship to study jazz in Portugal. Armed with degree in jazz studies and a portuguese passport, he headed to the UK and promptly got absorbed into the local jazz circuit there. He currently divides the year between London and Goa.
Kate Piterskaya – drums (Russia), Kate is a legendary drummer from St. Petersburg. She has played and recorded with many famous Russian and foreign musicians, including the opening act of the Scorpions band at the Leningrad Rock Club. Participant of the Great Live Music Festival (Goa, 2013)
Alphonso Romeo – bass (Italy), Born in italy, Bass player from 1995, Lived between Portugal and Brazil playing any kind of music styles Funk and jazz in particular way, Playing in india from 2015 , Playing in latin jazz band, From 2020 called Onda Latina
Eugene Ovzebosch – electronix (Russia) – male half of the electro-punk duo “BARTO”, musician and DJ, co-founder of the releasing label “bastard boogie tunes”; participant of the Great Live Music festival (Goa, 2013)
Apogeya Agapova – keyboard (Russia) – is a bacchante and discordian, knows the basics of drama, which allows her to professionally heat up the collective ecstatic when creating musical magic. The soloist of the scandalous union “theme of the cross”, the micro freak of the group “Areh” and the ideological inspirer of the commonwealth “pad’”.
